Soujiro walked slowly through the streets of Kyoto, bored because of his lack of orders. He looked around the streets that he knew so well now and wondered if there was anything to do. The two swords at his side clicked as he walked, tucked into his belt. As he walked, Soujiro kept a smile on his face.

A familiar narrow eyed policeman was also walking through Kyoto, a katana at his side. He'd been looking for any clues as to Shishio's hideout for awhile now.

Soujiro kept walking. Spotting the Mibu wolf, he lowered the straw hat upon his head so that it hid his eyes. As he passed the policeman, he kept a smile on his face, not minding the two swords at his side.

Saito took a look at Soujiro, and sighed. He didn't want to avert his chase after Shishio, but there were no toehr policemen around so... "Hey. Meiji law forbids the general public to carry swords."

Soujiro turned, his hat still covering his eyes. "Is that so? Well, then, what do you want me to do?" he asked.

Saito paused. "Either you can accompany me down to the police station, or you can leave those blades with me."

"I'm afraid I'll need another choice," Soujiro said, his smile visible from under his straw hat.

Saito smirked. "And I'm afraid, there is no other choice."

"Well, then, I can't hand over my swords and I don't quite have the time to go down to the police station. My answer would have to be neither, then, wouldn't it?" Soujiro said with a smile.

Saito smirked. "What a shame. I don't have time to be dealing with general citizens, but I do have a duty to uphold the law. So, if you're not going to leave the swords here, then you'll have to come with me to the police station."

Soujiro looked up more so that his eyes came out from under his hat. "Like I said, I don't have that kind of time either," he said. His eyes showed no remorse; only the eyes of a child unfit to carry a sword, let alone two.

Saito smirked. "It's not up for you to decide. It's up to me. And I say, that you're going to obey the Meiji law."

"Well, in my line of work, we don't follow the law anyways," Soujiro said with a smile. "Now, if you'll excuse me." He started to walk away.

He was blocked by a saber held by one of Saito's party of police, who'd finally caught up.

Soujiro stopped. "Please step aside."
