Saito smirked. "A wolf is a wolf. As a hitokiri is a hitokiri. Remember that Battosai."

Kurama nodded. For now, he trusts Kenshin more than the 'police officer'. He started to walk a few steps towards the Kamiya dojo, then he stopped to wait for Kenshin. Kurama looked back at Saito. "I don't think having humility to other people makes you weak. And I doubt that Kenshin is still Battosai, I don't see murder and bloodshed in his eyes." He said to him.

Saito was still smirking. "Humility is merely the sign of weakness, not the source. But how can he hope to protect anyone without killing?"

"I can protect without killing anyone." Kurama replied, then entered the Kamiya dojo.

Kenshin hid his eyes with his hair, sliding open the door of the Kamiya dojo. "Kaoru-dono, I'm-" he started, but was cut off by being hit on the head. "Where were you?!?! Do you know how long we've been waiting for you ever since you left?! Two months!" Kaoru yelled, hitting Kenshin again every other word.

Saito smirked and turned to leave. As he did, he noticed a figure he'd seen in Kyoto during the defeat of Shishio.
Hiko had left his home, besieged with doubts about how his 'stupid pupil' was faring after learning the Amakakeru.

Kenshin got knocked out, his eyes swirling. Kaoru whacked him one last time on the head with her wooden sword, sending him flying out of the dojo gates and into the wall across. Kenshin sat up and rubbed his head. "Uh...that hurt, that it did..." he said, in a dazed voice.

Hiko stared at Kenshin. "And is this... how my stupid pupil has been living since we parted ways again?"

Kenshin looked up at sound of the all-too-familiar voice. "Master..." he said, still a little dizzy from the beating he'd taken. Meanwhile, Kaoru stepped outside with fire burning in her eyes, tapping her wooden sword against her other hand, when she noticed Hiko. "It's you..." she said.

Hiko smirked. "Yes. It's been awhile. I came to see how you fared."

"Is that...so...?" Kenshin said, his hand still on the back of his head. Meanwhile, a figure clad in blue, a sword hooked to his belt, and a smile upon his face walked down the street. Sojiro noticed the commotion up ahead at the Kamiya dojo's doorstep. "Oh, what do we have here? Quite a reunion, isn't it?" he said with his usual tone and smile as he approached the group.

Hiko turned. "And you are....?"

Sojiro kept his smile on his face. "Perhaps Mister Himura here knows," he said, noticing the glare on Kenshin's face.

(ooc: If this is after the Kyoto arc, then Sojiro's not evil anymore you know)
Hiko looked at Kenshin. "Well?"

//No, it's a prologue to the series. I'm just assuming that Shishio was already 'set' at the beginning...wait....then Kenshin wouldn't know who Sojiro is, either! >.<//
"This one...is not sure..." Kenshin said. 'Although, I do feel bad energy coming from him...' he thought. "Wait, how do you know this one's name?" Sojiro looked down at Kenshin. "Master Shishio's informants know very much," he said.
