Zoro sighed. "I had hoped to avoid showing this before I faced him. But if you're serious." He took his Wadou Ichimounji and put it in his mouth. "Then I will show you, my Santouryu."

Hiko got up. "Well, as you wouldn't accept his challenge of a proper duel, it looks as if I won't be getting much entertainment my idiot pupil. I'll be leaving now." He walked past the fighters and out through the gateway.

Kurama slowly let his energy flow into the rose, and he transformed it into a rose whip in the usual fashion.
"The thorns of this whip can easily cut almost any kind of substance, including rock...and steel. If you cherish your sword, surrender and accept your defeat." There was a new feeling that can be sense on the thief, as he shows a small portion of his Youko side.

Zoro smirked. "Don't underestimate my swords. Especially..." He gestured to the Wadou in his mouth. "These blades could only ever be broken by a superior swordsman. And there is only one man, who is worthy of that title!" He charged Kurama. "Behold my Santoryu! Oni Giri!" He crossed his arms over his chest and then slashed out in an asterix pattern. This was one of his favorite moves, and had only failed once, and that had been the worlds greatest swordsman who had defeated it.

Kurama closed his eyes and after that, a normal person can only see slashes of the weapons clashing. As the smoke cleared, Kurama was able to escape the deadly damage the technique with a cut on his face. "My turn." He said simply, and he lashed out his whip also in the same asterisk pattern. "Rose Whiplash!"

Zoro slashed at the whip with his swords deflecting it. He came at Kurama with a series of fast consectutive slashes, and with three swords, it seemed like a whirlwind of blades coming at him.

"..." Kurama avoided most of the attacks but finally recieved serious damage. "Ah!" He cried, feeling the pain, then he went on offensive at Zoro again.
turning his whip back into a rose and therefore disposing it, he resorted to old-fashioned hand-to-hand combat, but he was only able to land a strong punch at his chest and nothing more.

Zoro was hit by the punch, but hardly staggered. He performed a slash with each sword in different directions. Diagonal, Up, and sideways.

Kurama dodged the attacks at a slower pace, then went defensive. Summoning a whirlwind of rose petals around him, he cried the technique's name. "Wind Petal Waltz Configuration!"

Zoro set his blades into an 'H'like form. "I don't now what you're trying, but it won't work!" His 'Ki' began to focus, and seemed to create an aura around him. His Ki was enormous. "Tora... Gari!!!" He slashed forwards, with his arms blades slashing in two perfect vertical arcs, with enormous power, and his mouth blade slashing in in a powerful horizontal slash.

Kurama leaped out of the way, as the rose petals were destroyed from the attack. He narrowed his eyes to Zoro as he landed on the ground. Time was the thing he needed the most, and his opponent won't dare to hesitate. "It will appear soon, and I suggest you surrender if you don't want to die." He never intended to kill the stranger, but if he insists, he has no choice.

Zoro set his swords in his next postition, at shoulder level, pointing out like horns. "I already told you. I can't give up. If I take even one step back now... everything I've done up until now... will be for nothing." In his mind he could still hear his promise to Kuina. Promise me! One day, one of us will become the greatest swordsman in the world! "She can't fufill it... the one thing she had always dreamed of... I bear this sword not for one, but for two!" He charged at Kurama. "And that's why I can never give up! Ushi Bari!!!" He charged, first with a stabbing attack from his two handheld blades, and then snapped all three swords out in a lightning fast slash on both sides.

"The time is right..." Kurama thought as he avoided another attack from Zoro. "Even the greatest swordsman has his loses." He simple raised his hand, facing the next attack. At the same time, Zoro's body was suddenly immobilized, as if Kurama was controlling his body. "I planted the Shimaneki weed inside you when I punched you in the chest." Kurama explained. "It can immobilize you but it does things more terrible than it. In my command, it can kill you immediately. Now surrender this fight, for I want you to continue both your and her dream. Continue fighting, and you will never have the chance to fullfill it."

Zoro struggled, and was even able to start moving. "No... I swore a vow, after I was beaten by him.... that until I can defeat him, and become the greatest swordsman... I will never lose again! Not even death himself can take my life away until then!" He tried to stab Kurama with the Sandaime Kitetsu.

Kurama easily dodged the attack as he fed the seed more youki. "If I put one more drop of youki, the shimaneki shall take root and grow from the inside, killing you. With that persistence of yours, you shall not only take harm to 2 people, but 3. One last time I ask you: surrender."
